Some Carbs Become Dr Bob Podcast Dr Bob Talks
Some Carbs Become Fat Almost Immediately
People on low-carb diets lose weight in part because they get less fructose, a type of sugar that can be made into body fat quickly, according to a researcher at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and reported on NBC Channel 5 TV.
The lead author of the study, Dr. Elizabeth Parks, said it shows that the type of carbs someone eats can be as important as the amount.
"Our study shows for the first time the surprising speed with which humans make body fat from fructose," Parks said. Fructose, glucose and sucrose, which are a mixture of fructose and glucose, are all forms of sugar but are metabolized differently.
This podcast has to do with Dr Park’s article. It is important that we recognize the causes of diseases and begin an improvement in our diets and food consumption. All diseases can be trace to what we eat – crops, ag-chemicals, food manufactures, and processors.
Remember to eat local and try to eat food like your grandmother or great grandmother did in the 1920’s and 1930’s.
