Bad Pancakes

I came across an article on a young college boy that had a reaction to molds growing in old pancake mix. Unfortunately the mix was not the only problem that we face on a daily basis when it comes to the industrial food that we are made to believe is safe to eat.

Fresh is always best but when it comes to grain products they loose their nutrients with in hours after they are ground up for our use. If you want healthy grains you need to buy the wheat (or other grains) and grind it up in your kitchen and bake it immediately. Needless to say that is not going to happen in pancake mix.

Molds are not obvious but bugs are easy to find in flours. I suggest that if you have old pancake mix or any kind of mix and it has been opened for some time and there are no bugs in the box then you should never eat the product – new or old. IF BUGS WILL NOT EAT THE PRODUCT WHY WOULD YOU? The bugs are trying to tell you something – there is no nutrition in the product you are about to eat. This also applies to vegetable oils – but then we know trans fatty acids are never healthy any way.

Enjoy this podcast and don’t eat old mixes at anytime.
